Category pages are not working correctly

Hello, I have a very strange bug or whatever it is. I have a website with a lot of VM categories, and when I made a menu item, at a sudden point it doesn't display any other category than the one I just clicked. Also, sometimes the products are shown duplicates. This also happens when I click on categories.

I used a brand new install of Joomla and a new install of Virtuemart. 3.9.10 and VM 3.4.2.

I thought maybe it's my overrides, but even when I disabel these, it still is not working correctly. I don't have any products in my category, could that be the problem?

EDIT: Found the problem. I hadn't published my categories.

How can an empty category display duplicate products? Do you have other modules or product settings with the category that shows other things, latest, new etc
