Product Does Not Show with Joomla SEF On

I'm using Virtuemart 3.4 and Joomla 3.8
When I turn  on Joomla SEO I cannot navigate to a product from its category. Can anyone help with this?

without a live site url and fuller info very unlikely anyone can help

If you turn SEF on with apache, you have to rename the htaccess.txt to .htaccess in the Joomla root folder
