Product Information->Product Categories: UNpublished Categories Not Listed

This is 'new' in 3.4

Previously, UNpublished categories were listed but not in v3.4

Force canonical category does list UNpublished categories.

I would appreciate urgent instruction to restore UNpublished categories in the available Product Categories list.

I am using  VM 3.4.0.9941 on my test site (the most recent dev version) & the unpublished categories are showing in the cat list and also available for selection for each product.

I updated via Joomla update.

All went smoothly

Version is 3.4.9935

I installed again and still same problem: no unpublished categories appear in the multiple category window.
