I'm new to joomla :d ,
  I have a database of products in sdf format    I need to add the contents to the virtuemart
I mean: Is There a way to I can add a product to Joomla (virtuemart
) using php or joomla functions ?

u need to convert the sdf format to something usable like xml or csv and then do a DB import prob. best with csvi

If you need to use directly sdf format, then you have to do an import tool, it's not specific to Joomla or virtuemart
