Change product image according to custom fields

Hello,

Quick question - not sure if it is possible or not.

I have one product available in two options (so I use custom fields).
The basic cost is 50
The second option is the basic plus 25 (75 total).

If someone is on my website and through the custom fields created, they select the second option, is it possible for the displayed image to be changed accordingly i.e. customer goes to the product and sees the basic image.  Using the drop down (created by custom fields), they select the second option, is it possible for the second image to show as the primary?

if it is only a basic custom field u would need to do it in the template by javascript

if u make it a product child then the product actually changes on selection and u can have a different image show for this child
