Add Overlay Category Image

Hi There,

hope you guys can help, I'm trying to add an overlay effect on the category's image on my website. However i don't really understand how to do it!

I've notice that from the backend i can add an image class to the category's image, but i'm not sure what to do next.

Do you have any idea how to add an overlay opacity when the cursor in on the image?

You have to play with css opacity.
eg https://www.w3schools.com/css/css_image_transparency.asp or https://css-tricks.com/almanac/properties/o/opacity/
