Virtuemart x Amazon Ec2 x Gd Library

Hello people
With a virtuemart store in amazon (without ec2, with ami linux), there is no way to install the php server, apache and etc ...
I'm having trouble with the store because I do not have a GD library
Anyone have any idea how to install and make virtuemart recognize?
