edit product change the layout to "default"

hi,
i got the strange issue after update to joomla 3.8.3. and VM 3.2.12

i use for products details layout page that is selected in the main settings.. it was all working fine.
but after this updates i got strange issue - when i edit any product and hit save the layout for this one product is resaved as "default" instead of "no override"..

why is this? any ideas?
