1054 errors in VM backend

when saving products: 1054 Unknown column 'product_stockhandle' in 'field list'
when saving categories: 1054 Unknown column 'cat_params' in 'field list'

any ideas?

updating tables in Tools/Tools & Migration DB Tools did the trick
