I made a mistake and upgraded Joomla from 3.7.0 to 3.7.1 BEFORE upgrading VM from 3.2.1 to 3.2.2. Now VM is down on the front end. I can still access the CP.

What do I do now?

Milbo

Just install VM via backend? /administrator?
But I wonder that it is directly down and shows a blank page, actually.

Hi Milbo, indeed, VM is down and shows a blank page. The rest of the site is up and running ok.

I have four other sites running VM which I upgraded the correct way with those. VM is running ok on all those sites.

I have a backup of the site that is down. What's best?

1. Install full VM 3.2.2. over existing install via administrator
2. Load backup and redo the upgrades

Thanks!

I'd revert to the backup and then test any updates on a copy of the live site.

You could try Rupostel's 500 detector plugin, though. http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=117042.msg470068#msg470068   I use it a lot for debugging fatals.

Hi guys

I just fixed it!!! - It was a PHP memory issue. With the upgrade to Joomla 3.7.1 we upgraded PHP to 7.0. It turns out PHP needed more memory. The default max memory on the 7.0 php.ini file was set to 32MB. As soon as we upped that to the standard 128MB, VM came back!

Thanks for your replies. Hope this helps someone else in the future.
