The promotion is valid until ... on the product page

Does anyone have an idea how to show the final date for the promotion on the product page? No matter whether a counter or just text with an end date.
I've found a solution in VM 1.5 but please share experience with VM 3x.

Thank you for your answer.
Promotion that allows use of start and end date. No matter which promotion. 
As far as I know, promotions can be set in "Taxex & Calculation Rules" or directly in the product as an new price. Both the start and end dates can be specified in both places.
I'm interested in any code that can show these dates on the product page.
