Creating pproduct options using custom fields

Hi,

wondering what would be the best way of going about creating products that are both an option of another product and a product in their own right (child).

Example:
Car (parent)
-Sedan (child)
-Hatchback (child)
-Caravan (child)

And then I'd have say optional spoiler kits. They don't have to be purchased with the car but they can be, and they can be bought as separate products as well.
-pretty spoiler kit
-ridiculous spoiler kit

Simply selecting a category in a child product will display them in the category so that's easy. But considering the options are also separate products each compatible with all children, what would be the best way of creating those without duplication?
As far as I'm aware it's not possible for a child product to be a child of multiple parent products. And the project I'm working on has a multitude of different options on some products which would make duplicating products a nightmare.

thanks

Hi

1. You will need several variations/child products for each of your main products.
BMW M3 Car > BMW M3 Sedan Car, BMW M3 Caravan Car
You can try that plugin:

it's FREE

2. You can use bundles to do that.

Hi Balai,

thanks for the response. I have bought these already, I'll make a few test runs with it. So far I've done everything I needed except for a handful of these specific ones.

regards,
Robert
