VM jQuery, external Google jQuery or nothing
I tried all options...no differences.

Generally use the local VM version of jQuery. If your template already loads jQ then it may not be necessary to load the VM version - but check the actual version numbers, and ensure jQ is loaded before the .js files which use the library.
