I'm getting an error when using the search after changing the sorting preferences in the virtuemart config to sort by name ascending.
I don't get any errors when i change it back to sort by articlenumber for example. Any ideas how i can fix this?

Your Joomla/VM versions are old and insecure. http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=118683.0     More important to avoid getting hacked than to try to fix an issue that may not occur in later versions anyway.  Be sure to test on a backup of your site in case you also have a template that needs updating.

I'm afraid that updating is currently out of the question. Do you have a clue how to fix the issue on this version?
