Hello and good day, before we start to develop a new VirtueMart Admin UI "template" we want to ask if others are ready to chip in. And also to get some suggestions from users of VirtueMart what could be done and what would be ideal for a new UI (tips, suggestions, examples etc)... we are a lot of times using Linelabs VM ui plugin to make it look a little better. But it has not seen updates in a long time and it seems to ahve a few problems with some custom fields plugins.

We are thinking a 100% bootstrap template (with focus on easy usage and compatibility). Hire a good template creator firm and ask them to go through all parts of the admin UI of VM.

Would you chip in some money?

Have you seen a good modern eCommerce backend template lately?

Who do you recommend (designer, template creator, template creator company) to help out with this?

I suggest speaking directly with Max.
If he is willing to do so, then you can think the rest.
I am willing to support that.

Studio 42

I wrote this for few years now : https://github.com/studio42/Virtuemart-2-Joomla-3-Bootstrap using font icons in menu and fully responsive(table too using hidden class) this was using A old VM release, so the project cannot be used fro current Vm release.
The customfields was enhanced to and was displaying directly all types of know customfields when creating a new one. So it was faster to create some.
Note that all images was removed and replaced by font icons.
In front the UI was display with tmpl=component , to have better compatibility and displayed same as in Back-end.
I stopped the project because Virtuemart changed to many things on each updates.

This http://eliteadmin.themedesigner.in/demos/eliteadmin-ecommerce/index.html is interesting. I would really love to have a admin UI like that.

I know Joomla 3.x has the bootstrap 2.3.2 and its not that its bad for a good UI but its a bit old and the future (Joomla 4) seems to be on Bootstrap 4.

Im still interested to start this here. Do we have anyone else that would be interested or any comment from the active developers about this? - I really think it would attract a huge base of users if things was more polished in the backend GUI.

With such a UI VM will go in another level.
What Max thinks?
