Virtuemart error in error_log

I did not know in which message category I could write this. I hope I'm not too out of place.

I have a problem for to rename htaccess.txt to .htacces in a site that was under developer and now is published. When I try to rename the file, the site shuts down. In error_logs the description is:

[20-Jan-2017 12:15:02 UTC] PHP Warning:  include(): Failed opening '/home/sol515cl/public_html/modules/mod_virtuemart_product/start.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/sol515cl/public_html/index.php on line 3

But the file "start.php" don't exist. I hope you help me how to decipher it.

The site is Joomla Joomla! 3.6.4 with Virtuemart 3.0.18 with a template of virtuemarttemplates.net.

check your virtuemart product module settings and change layout start to default.
But the problem is not from here, but your .htaccess need sometime changes to work.

I had a similar problem when i renamed my .htaccess  The fix for me was to turn on url rewrite.. This can be founf in global configuration then url rewritting < enable..

Is worth the try..
