IT WORKS SO:

The customer wanting to buy the product selects the product from virtuemart shop to buy.

He clicks the button add to cart or show basket buttons which redirects to one page checkout page for virtuemart. Where he sees added products to shopping cart with payment and shipping options to select. He selects payment/shipping methods and fills the forms for billing and shipping addresses in one page checkout and clicks confirm order button which redirects to payment gateway to make the payment.
