I want to tune a VirtueMart webshop for SEO.

Therefore I have to add 'noindex, nofollow' to the links displayed in the Orderby Displaynumber filtering on each category page.
Can this be done by configuration or do I have to hack the code...??

Now each filter option is indexed by Google and I don't want that to happen.

You could do that by adding a Joomla menu item for each of those views and set the menu items to noindex, nofollow. But I think it doesn't make a lot of sense, because all of those 'sort by' views share the same canonical url. So after a while Google itself will delete them from their index. Also, if Google at present displays for example 3 different 'sort by' category views in the search results and you eliminate 2, the eliminated ones will probably be replaced by SERPS from your competitors. Would that be a good SEO?
