Emails Not Being Sent to Customers or Admin

As of yesterday afternoon, our system stopped sending emails to customers and admin notifying them of purchases. We did not change anything in our backend. Aside from upgrading our software (which we are very hesitant to do because of certain modules/plugins/components not working if we do so), does anyone have any suggestions as to why this may be happening, and how to rememdy?

VM: 2.6.10
Joomla: 2.5.27

Can u send mail at all from the site?
Have u switched on debugging and tried sending mails?
Have u asked the host if they changed anything?
Are orders being set to the correct state to send an emailß

Can u send mail at all from the site?
***I added my personal email as a Joomla user and received a confirmation email that I had registered.
***I think attempted to send a test Newsletter from AcyMailing (which I think is what VM uses?) and did not receive anything in my inbox.

Have u switched on debugging and tried sending mails?
***I have not switched on debugging, I'm not familiar with the process. Where would I look to do this?

Have u asked the host if they changed anything?
***We use GoDaddy, I can look into this.

***I believe all is set correctly, see the screenshot in my original post.

Actually, I JUST received the test Newsletter from AcyMailing ... there was just a delay.

One more... is debugging the Global Config > Debug Settings > Debug System (check radio dial yes) what you were referencing? If I check yes, what will I be looking for after that. Thank you.

try switching the state of an order pending->Confirm .. what ever.. that will trigger emails and see what happens with joomla error reporting full up and VM debug -- vm admin

Thank you, I did what you suggested. I'm just not sure where/how to view any potential error reports:
" joomla error reporting full up and VM debug -- vm admin"

so when u flip an orders status in the admin to something that should trigger an email what happens? no message? no fault?
