I've got three web sites all using Virtue mart, all with the same template, but two of the sites will show both main categories, and underlying categories in the menu, white the one site will only show under categories when selecting a main category. How do i control this ? I want all sites to show only main categories, and only show the sub categories when selecting a main category.

All three sites have latest Joomla version (3.6), Latest Virtue mart, and the same template for Joomla. I've had this problem for a while, and tried to compare setting to find differences, but nothing. I've updated both Joomla and Virtue mart a few times after getting this issue.

Latest Virtue mart

So VirtueMart 3.0.17.4?  Look carefully at the menus you are using.

I currently got Virtue Mart 3.0.16 and Joomla 3.6.0.
But as I mentioned, the problem is not related to the version of Joomla or Virtue mart as I've had the issue for a while, and upgraded both Joomla and Virtue mart a few times singe this happened.
There must be some setting somewhere that I can use to change this, but I can't find it.

More specific, the layout issue is with how the VirtueMart Category module shows the product categories. All three sites are using the exact same template, and have the exact same joomla and virtue mart versions. They also have the same setup and layout.

Tried that, but it didn't work. If I select not to show children category it only hides the children categories on the main window, and all products in them.
The menu stays the same.
On the site that works I automatic get a list of main categories in the "VirtueMart Category" module that I've put on the left side of the page. When I press a category, the child categories fan out.
On the site that doesn't work I get a list of absolutely all product categories in stead.

For refeerence, check out the pages:

Are all sites supposed to be single language? On the countryfisher.no site it looks like you entered norwegian language content into the english language product tables. You can check that in your phpMyAdmin.

BTW - the VirtueMart language-packs are available for download here: http://virtuemart.net/community/translations

Should be a language pack installed, but I doubt that has anything to do with the menu layout not cascading.
