Manufacturer Page

Hello,

I would like to add a Page with all the manufacturers on our site.  The way that I envision this is a menu item "Manufacturers" which would bring up a page of all the manufacturers images.  Clicking on the image would bring up the Manufacturers description.  Can this be easily done ?

Alternatively is there a way to display the manufacturers description on the top of the page when Browsing by manufacturer ?

The reason that I want this is that some manufacturers are asking for back links to their site and I am trying to find a way to allow this, without being too intrusive.

I developped myself a module for this and added a view to render the manufacturer index for a customer.
This not exist in Virtuemart(or i dont have see any)
