virtuemart 3.0.12
Total Newb question

I have researched and cant find how to actually SEE VirtualMart on my frontend.  I have created a single vendor, all of the modules for VM are installed and published.  From looking at admin setup the VM control panels seems to be an overide of the Joomla control panel.  I just cant find out how to make my site view be a VM site.  How do I make it a VM cart site? Thanks

Have you ever used Joomla before? If not maybe you should learn something about that first:
https://docs.joomla.org/Portal:Beginners
https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Getting_Started_with_Joomla!

If you installed VirtueMart3.0.13_Joomla_2.5.29-Stable-Full_Package.zip then once installtion is completed you will already have the menu item to VM set up and working.

No I havent used Joomla or VM before. I did premise my post with Total Newb> I have set up dozens of Zen cart and other shopping carts.  I did follow your install tutorials but apparently its for a different version because there arent drop down menus for the selection type, so you have to know the selection type before you get a selection choice..  I installed a menu titled: Shop type: VM-layout  Which Im assuming is the type that is supposed to display your cart.  And GC's effort to assist me was a simple 1 sentence response.  Create a menu in Joomla.

But I am posting because I needed help, not because I am to lazy to read.  I have searched the forums and web for a solution, there is not a guide for actually installing the latest version. The integrated Joomla & VM did not install properly. It hung up at the last step before finish. So I had to do the 5 step process and then go through the debugs to find out what files were missing,  so here I've been trying to get an actual VM cart up for 2 days and the response I get is "create a menu."  Just doesn't impress as someone who is really interested in helping.  Now, I will go away and try another cart, thanks for your "assistance."

BTW - one of your links is empty.  ::)

jenkinhill

No it is not empty, I forgot the forum software excludes a closing ! from a Joomla! URL - I have fixed it.

But if you are already having difficulties then you maybe should check out some other options. There are so many different carts to choose from with varying levels of complexity.
