EU VAT ID forcing TAX use

Hello

This has been a problem since we used Istraxx EU VAT ID but it happens the same with other EU VAT checker solutions since the limitation remains in the core of VM.

As a fruit company we are allowed to tax at 4%, even in the shipping and payment fee costs. The only solution here having different taxes is to to apply the concrete one (4%) in the shipping and payment fees. So far so good but the problem arises for users with valid EU VAT ID.

That setting wont remove the VAT from shipping and payment fee.

Using "apply generic rules" in shipping costs will make an average which although is legal is charging more TAX.

So we had 2 options either not use the EU VAT ID or change our company TAX system.

This is a big limitation in the calculations from VM.

Removing Tax only works if you set "apply generic rules" and this is driving us mad. Companies should be allowed to set exactly what VAT is charged by default so the "apply generic rules" is not a valid system always.

VirtueMart is forcing us to apply more Tax when we are legally allowed to charge it at 4%, something impossible with the current system.

PD: When you configure the EU VAT ID and create a group "with tax applied" and another with "no tax applied" this setting should not be overwritten by a Tax appliance.

If you set a concrete tax for shipping or payment fee this has priority over the shopper groups even if one of them is set to no tax. This could be a simple solution.
