Hi,  I have a problem I cannot solve although there are many posts that talk about it.

Joomla 3.4.6 - Virtuemart 3

If you register a new user from joomla it works well.

When I make a purchase and register a new user from virtuemart sends the activation email (as I need you to do) but by entering the link does not enable the user.

Where am I wrong? : '(

Thank you.

And preferably don't use Joomla registration at all.  VM shoppers who register are registered into Joomla automatically.

Hi, thanks, you are right !!!

I don't need an activation email but Virtuemart sends the activation email.

How can I set virtuemart in order not to send the activation email but only to register and activate the user in joomla ?

GJC Web Design

switch it off!

joomla users  ->  options -> activation -> none

Hi,

I am having the same problem with activation emails.
When a new shopper puts an item in their cart, and then follows the link to register, the activation mail is sent. However, clicking the activation link opens the site's homepage in a new tab. Strangely, the user can go back to his original tab, where he is then seen to be logged in, and complete the purchase. However, if he attempts to log in later, he finds his account isn't activated, and this can be confirmed by checking the Use Manager. Weirdly, going back to the activation email and clicking the activation link works, once the purchase is complete!
I would prefer if users were required to activate their account in order to verify the email address, so I don't want to simply set activation to None.
Any guidance would be appreciated!

how does this help?

If the email is wrong they never receive it so they don't know what to do next..

Even if correct IMHO a large % will have no idea what activation even means

it is simply a sales killer
