hi folkz,

my running version of VM is 3.0.6.2 and joomla 3.4.1.

i have the following task to do: i need to make a link to the shopping cart in the main menu, and on the left side on the link there should be an icon of a bag and the price sum of all articles in the cart. also, the cart link is the first in the menu.

Now i dont know how to start. Do i have to change the cart module or is there that functionality included in VM?

My guess is, that i put the cart module before the main menu and change it to link to the cart overview and show the sum?

i would be very thankful for some clues ;)

thx, and peace
jesta

yes - what u are describing is a restyled vm cart module

you should be on at least VM3.0.6.4 , 3.0.6.2 is broken on J3.4.1

so...can i make an alternative layout? or only an override?

JestaBlunt

and is there a documentation about where to get the data? like, is there a sum total which i can use or do i have to sum it up manually?

JestaBlunt

and another one...i want to remove the "total" (in german "summe") from the sum. but when i do a language override, the sum is also missing, not only the text before. where is that "billTotal" variable constructed?

you just over ride the module tmpl default file and follow what is in their..

look in the module php to see how lang vars etc render the text/prices
