All, this is literally driving me crazy!

I am starting from scratch a new Joomla 3.3.6 + Virtuemart 3.0.2 installation. I'm using italian and english (GB) as languages.
After the initial configuration of the directories, a sample vendor and a sample shop, I create just 1 sample product, then I configure the home page of the website with the Virtuemart 3 front page.

I would expect to se the just configured product in the home page but... I see nothing!

I really don't understand what I am missing, so I am looking for some clues: please help me!

I have read somewhere a possible cause could the language of the VM3 deployment and the language of the product, but to me they are ok, I mean there is nothing special to do...

Another possible issue is that my provider deployed MySQL v6.6, but I don't know if this is meaningful.

Thanks in advance for any possible hint
Cheers
Luciano

Hi,
some questions:

1. Have you published your product?
2. Have you assigned a product category to the product?
if not:
3. Have you checked the VM option to "Show uncategorised child products in search results and modules" in Configuration->Shopfront?
4. Have you enabled at least "Show latest products" in Configuration->Templates->Virtuemart Home Page Settings?

Be sure that you save / publish your changed setting

Kind regards,

bluezeyes

QuoteI would expect to se the just configured product in the home page but... I see nothing!

expect to see it where exactly?  the home page doesn't show individual products unless they happen to "qualify" to show in the 3 areas, latest, top or featured.
if you make a menu to the category does it show?

Thank you bluezeyez, not it works!
It was one of the things you asked me to check and specifically the assignment of categories.
Honestly I did not remembered it was mandatory to assign a category to a product, but that's it, now I see all the products.
Thanks a lot for hints

Cheers

P.S for GJC: I expected to see something in the site home page which I had configured to show the VM front page. So I expected to see populated the "latest" area which actually happened as soon as I assigned a category to a product. Thanks!

there is a setting in the VM admin -> Show uncategorised child products in search results and modules

did u try that - as I said - will show in the frontpage modules ONLY if it passes all the conditions
