Related Products not saved and images not seen

I have an installation of Joomla 2.5.27 und VirtueMart 2.6.10   (and 2.0.24, makes no difference)

Everytime I try to set the related products, the system shows no images or data. Even in HTML the fields are completly empty. See attachment below.

Related Products and Related Categories are not saved, either.

Can someone help me?

I had a go at adding a related product in 2.6.12 - appears to work ok.

Updated to 2.6.12, but that didn´t changed anything.

I would guess, that something should stand in the database / table virtuemart_product_relations
Its empty

I tried to fill one line manually with two product ids (688 -> 220), but can´t see an effect.
