Confirmed order email in wrong language?

Ok guys here's the problem,

VM2.6.10. Bilingual shop: english/greek.

The 'confirmed order' email is in English, when it should be in Greek.

The 'pending order' email is correctly in Greek, when it should be.

The relevant greek translation strings seem to be in place (in the el-GR.com_virtuemart.ini)... e.g.
COM_VIRTUEMART_MAIL_SUBJ_SHOPPER_C = "correct greek translation here"

Could this be a bug? Any pointers where to look next?

Thanks

Ok, looked into this more.... this has to be a bug, or a very wrong way of doing things on the VM side....

When the order is placed in the front end, the email sent to the user is in their own language (good).

When I go to the backend to update the order status, the email sent to the user is in English (bad).

English is the default Joomla/VM backend language, but it's a multilingual shop on the frontend. So, now what? Can I get a confirmation this is a known issue, and hopefully pointers to a solution?

Thanks

[J2.5.27, updated to latest VM 2.6.12 btw...]

[UPDATE 27th October 2014]
There are other references to this issue in older versions of VM...
e.g. this thread from 2013: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=112817.0

The issue was acknowledged and a fix was supposed to come in VM 2.1 update. It is still not fixed in VM 2.6.12. It's a rather important issue for multilingual sites.

Thanks

Thank you for looking into it. Will wait for the official VM3 release (if it proves backwards compatible enough) and report back on this thread.
