Need to add product attributes (e.g shirt sizes)
Used to be in Product Status - I don't see it there.
Has it moved or is it not functional?
If it is not functional, when will it be available?

It was always there and is in the topic customfields. This is OT, please read here http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?board=132.0

There is no option for cart variant in custom fields type drop down... Please see attached screenshot
I am using the PDF and description on this thread as a guideline.

http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=90833.0

The plug-in type option also does not seem to work the way it is described in http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=100480.0
The boxes mentioned to not appear after saving and no additional options can be added.

No answer to this? Really? Why would you make this so freakin' difficult in 2.0?

Not sure where to ask this or if you can point me in the right direction... But if we are running the 2.6.... version and upgrade to the 2.9... version will the upgrade change much on a live store?  Is that a stable version?

Thanks so much
Alyssa

2.9.9.5  is possibly the last RC before the release of VM3 stable (for use with both Joomla 2.5 and Joomla 3.x) In my view it is superior to VM2.6 and is used to power http://extensions.virtuemart.net/
The files are available on http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/files and the more people who test with the RC, the sooner the stable version will be made available.

If updating you need to be sure that any third party plugins used are compatible, and if you use template overrides these may require editing, as VM3 uses a more advanced templating system.

So what happended to Cart Variant in the Custom Field type dropdown? It's not in VM 3.0.14.

There are a few tutorials online that refer to this custom field type.

That was 18 months ago - a long time in VM development! And there will always be tuts for older versions on the net.
All plugins have the option "Cart Attribute" and can be placed in the addtocart layout position (ie within the cart form).

So did Cart Variant become Cart Attribute? - it would just help people understand the progression when trying to apply an old tut to current functionality. From my experience, there are quite a few VM2 text and video tutorials but not many relating to VM3.
