and so did did I to my "security conscious" mail server!

excellent - call it fixed me thinks

while were here does the spell check popup ever work for u?  I get the popup but a blank screen on all browsers I try

This server doesn't seem to support spell check, although the PHP Spell Check module is enabled, so I deactivated it.

Modern browsers have their own spell check ;-)
