How to Fix Corrupted File
« on: March 08, 2014, 20:57:15 pm »
HELP. I posted this also in an older topic but thought I'd better start a new one in case no one is looking at the old one anymore.

I tried to edit the default_pricelist.php file in the following file and now I get the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in /home/content/e/w/m/ewmacro/html/staging/components/com_virtuemart/views/cart/tmpl/default_pricelist.php on line 1

I believe this is because I edited the file in Word Pad instead of Notepad. YES, I'm a novice. I thought I could always put it back, but nothing works at this point.

Is there a way to fix this?

OR, can somebody send me the file so I can upload it and live with the ugly shipping address block that I totally don't need?

I'm using version 2.0.26d.

I could also use advice on better ways to edit php.

This error means there is a "}" character where no such character should be in the code of that specific file which the error mentions.

That's all I can say from here.

So download a VirtueMart package and grab that file and upload it to your site to the path which is mentioned in the error.

Make a backup!!!
Send me a pm ;-)

Thanks Eugene, this should work AND I'll always make a backup from now on.
