Customer text for multiple items (qty)

Hi,

I've been unable to find a solution for this problem.
We have a particular item in our shop - a certificate...

The user is able to specify eg a name (no cost implication on the product).

If the user buys 4 certificates, he should be able to specify 4 names.

I have not been able to configure the 'customer text' custom field to allow this. Am I missing something here?
