I also added this to my ../templates/flypage.tpl.php
so I could have a 'Make an Offer' button appear along with the 'add to cart'
Paste wherever you want it to appear on the flypage:
"<a class="button" href="<?php echo $ask_seller_href; ?>">Make an Offer!</a>"

I seem to have some luck with this.  I did not actually see this thread or even look for a solution, so this one is completely original and separate from any .......

Create backups of all files, and name them ORIGINAL, so that

shop.ask.tpl.php now becomes shop.ask.tpl.ORIGINAL.php.  These will

serve as restore files in case the work does not go as well as you

wanted.

Step I: Add form field to the shop.ask.tpl.php file:

Example: <!--OFFER AMOUNT TEXTBOX-->
    <label for="contact_offer_amt"><?php echo

$VM_LANG->_('OFFER_PROMPT') ?></label>
   <br /><input type="text" name="offer" id="contact_offer_amt"

size="80" class="inputbox" value="<?php echo $offer ?>"/><br /><br />
       <!--End TEXTBOX-->

is this the correct way to do it? is this core hacking or is this safe to still update Virtuemart?
