when checkout as registered user State / Province / Region no dropdown option

when checkout as registered user State / Province / Region no dropdown option but when checkout as guess State / Province / Region works fine with list of option showing up..

and either if user is registered or checkout as guess the country dropdown works fine.. so i think it couldn't be a jQuery issue..

btw i'm using "VP One Page Checkout" plugin and all java-scripts works fine on our website

any ideas what could be the issue?

p.s im thinking of create a input field were user can manually input there state/province/ region, im just wondering if it will be included on the order details and invoice pdf?

I am also facing the similar issue. I am using Joomla 3.2.2 with VM development and test build 2.1.1. I am logged in as Super User and when i try to fill the "Bill To Information" section, i can see the Country, but can't see its corresponding State getting populated. And since its a mandatory field, i am not able to save the information.

@ronjb what happens if you use default checout instead of the VP OPC?

this "issue" is always related IMHO to a javascript error.
the dropdown is populated from ajax call - any js conflicts will break this

the other possibility is the chosen.js script isn't loaded
