Problem with custom fields

Hi all,

I am running vm 2.026c

The problem i am having is with child products and custom fields.

I sell plates which are available in different cuts and sizes,

For example:

IIIa pistol plate is available in sapi cut M,L,XL in shooters cut M,L,XL  and in single curve S, L 

I have child products for each of those cuts and sizes. But on the front end I can select a Single curve in XL and it will add to cart....  Even though there is no such product.

What am I missing or how do I fix this?
