I am also experiencing a weird search bug similar to what you mention. The only difference is that although I have the category and product description selected for searching only the description of the category is searchable. I can't even search product names.

Anyone who can help on this would be much appreciated. The Virtuemart version is 2.0.26d and the Joomla version is 2.5.3.

Link to the site so you can see what I mean is www.honestdogarts.com

Thanks!
Rebecca

Please try the vm2.5.  http://dev.virtuemart.net/attachments/download/686/com_virtuemart.2.5.0_extract_first.zip

There is one swizz tester with the same problem and he says it is solved, so it would be very good to get your input.

Hi wdad,

I see that your site is now working with the search. What did you do to make the change? Mine is still not working at all. I tried Milbo's suggestion to change to 2.5.0 and still had no luck with getting it to work.
Any help on this would be great!

Thanks,
Rebecca

I finally got everything to work! I reinstalled the 2.0.26d package, Updated the AIO and refreshed the tables. Then I was able to make the search work for descriptions. I don't have categories come up but that will work for my purposes.

Thanks and I hope this helps some one else as well! :)

Milbo

You must check the vm config and enable the description as field for the search. This can be quite time consuming so it is disabled by default, imho.
