remove Products from bottom of category page

I set up a category page and instead of showing just the categories I am getting categories at the top and then all products in shop under. Never seemed to have this problem before how do I show just the categories?

If you have any products within the present/parent category then those products will be displayed below the sub-categories. If you do not want to display any product in the parent category page and only want to show the sub-categories then open all those products (which are being displayed in the parent category page) and assign their category as the respective sub-categories but not the parent category for which you do not want to show the products.
