Child variant custom field shown as image rather than dropdown

Hi!

I have some child products in different colors, and currently, when choosing e.g. Red in the dropdown, the image changes to the red child product. Excellent! What I would like to accomplish is that the dropdown is turned into boxes with the given color in them, e.g. like the attached image. While still maintaining the changing of the image when a color is selected.

Anyone here knows how to do this or know of an extension that can manage this? I think I've searched half of the internet by now :)

Thanks!

It doesn't allow for changing the image when clicking the color.

So write that bit to work with the plugin,  javascript/css switcher,  or commission a programmer to do it for you, as it forms the basis of the function you require.

I don't think it's that easy. I think the above plugin is based on cart variant, which I can do myself (using color-images, that is). The trouble is getting it to work with child variant. Therefore, the basis of Breakdesigns's plugin would be at the same level as what I'm able to do myself. I have written them, though, to hear more about how it functions.

Oh that one. Yeah, I've found that. However, then link doesn't work and it seems that all communication from the developers has stopped. Sounded like the right thing though.

That's good that you read the start of the thread. Probably it worth to read the end of thread too? For example my post there?

What's with the attitude?

And I did read the end, hence the comment on developers not responding!

I have no idea which post of yours you're referring to, maybe you should be a bit more specific.

Waste though, component doesn't work properly...

Jörgen, you're referring to Custom Fields for All by Breakdesign?

Maxim Pishnyak

Probably something made my post invisible there then

This looks nice. Good work, but
1) in confirmation e-mail dont display color - display Color Hex code like #d43ed4
2) what happen if we have more then 100 colors? We need dropdown with color for each row of dropdown menu.
3) there is option to add price for some colors, but don't display price only calculate final price.
4) dont display Color Name
5) I dont need but other people here want option to change product picture when choose a color.

If Product Colors (Component + Plugin) is open sorce it will be nice someone to improve this Component + Plugin
Virtuemart (Component would be enaff) is open source too and it will be nice if someone will just use this Component for working with Product Colors stuff.

What's the problem?

Anybody could select picture on product administration web page.

This picture could be personal color of current product.

And, no, I don't mean using standard product images.
