update from 2.0.20b to 2.0.24 Fatal error: Class 'shopFunctionsF' not found

I had the shop turned off in vm config to update.
After the update, this error was read on the shop in the frontend:
Fatal error: Class 'shopFunctionsF' not found in xxx /components/com_virtuemart/views/virtuemart/view.html.php on line 40

When I turned the shop back on in configuration, the error message was gone and the shop is functional, except for an email issue.
Something to do with the offline message?
Anyway... that was the bug I found today.

Now searching to see why vendor email has stopped being received via the shop.  Issue began in previous version 2.0.20b and update to 2.0.24 didn't fix it.
