if you have an updated product the quantity box should have a MINIMUM of 1 already in it, when they get to the page.

IF a user tries to add "0" to the cart by actually changing the 1 to 0, does it really matter what they see?

I would not worry at all about something like this.
who really tries to change a 1 to 0, and add to cart?

and should they be mad when nothing is actually added?

Thanks for your reply. I see your point. However, I still would like to have a custom message to be displayed instead of just "0." Could you please guide me through to the right file, please?
