[ SOLVED ] Product search does not search . / characters - help!

Hi there,

I have products listed in VirtueMart (VM) that have sizes which contain the characters . (decimal) / (slash) etc within their product description.

When loading the search results, VM automatically drops the . or /

For example when searching for size 11R22.5 VM drops the . and doesn't recognise this size as a keyword, another example is 205/65R15.

I require VM to not drop the characters and display the relevant products.

Can anyone help me here, as this search function is integral to the website.

I guess I may have to clarify what I mean.

Virtuemart automatically searches without including certain characters. My products include products that have keywords made up of characters such as / . -

These above characters are fundamental to the search results.

How can I get VM to search these characters as part of the keyword?
