VM search is not working...

Hi, i am using Joomla 2.5.9 and VM 2.0.18.

I tried to use VM search but it is not working. I enabled the plugin and the module. This is what happens:
no matter what word i enter in the input, i get never any result. Instead i get the second screen with this url:
http://localhost/index.php/search?keyword=test&limitstart=0&option=com_virtuemart&view=category

In the input field now the word 'test' is filled in. If i click on the search button again, the word 'test' is replaced with the word 'joomla' and i have the wrong results with the url http://localhost/index.php/search.  If, at last, i reënter the word test again and click search:
http://localhost/index.php/search?searchword=test&ordering=newest&searchphrase=all
this time i get the correct result.

So: what i need is, if i click on the search button the first time, the last url should be called. For some reaseon somehow, i cannot find where this first url comes from. I think it has something todo with mod_virtuemart_search. But i dont understand the line require(JModuleHelper::getLayoutPath('mod_virtuemart_search')); in this code...
