Front End Product Editing - Can Not Save Edits

I've seen this problem in other posts. BUT, either the post remains unanswered, the answer is for an outdated version, or the post strays to saving of user data.

Joomla! 2.5.6
VM 2.0.18a
AIO: 2.0.18a

Logged into the FRONT END as Super User. Navigate to a product and click the small edit icon. Product Administer displays. I make an edit, say change a name or a price, and click Save. The page refreshes back to home. I then navigate back to the edited product - to find the changes were not saved.

I enabled Debug and get this:

        vmdebug self::$_jpConfig->lang en_gb
vmdebug vmTime: loadConfig db no: 0.0039739608764648
        vmdebug Start used Ram 13.75M
vmdebug vmTime: VirtuemartControllerVirtuemart Finished task : 0.16407084465027
        vmdebug End used Ram 22.75M
        vmdebug Peak memory peak 22.75M

But that doesn't offer any help. I also noticed that on mouse over of save - the displayed link is: /index.php#

Seems to me that the save button isn't initiating some function that it should be?

Is this a bug or a configuration issue?

And - and Apply button would be a great enhancement.

Did find any answer to this? I thought this was working a few versions ago but it's not working now.

just tested on vm2.0.20b and it works,... we did not change anything there. So there must be another problem.

I'm having exactly the same issue above, it's not saving front end edits when logged in as super user. 'Save' and 'Cancel' is refreshing back to index.php#

However, I'm using vm2.0.20b and it's still not working.

Any ideas?

I am having the same exact issue. I am using 2.0.18a.
If there is no fix for that, is there some module or component to be able to save the edited product from the fontend?
Thanks

Which changes? I just tested the description with 2.0.21a and it works. But as said before, nothing changed there, should also work with 2.0.18

VM version 2.0.20b
Joomla! 2.5.9

Frontend product edit does not work. When I try to edit from the front end it will not save. The icons for "save" and "cancel" both point to /index.php#. If only those links were fixed, then product editing would work. As it is, both "cancel" and "save" are doing the same thing - /index.php#

Milbo

ehrm, you know that it is everywhere the same in the BE, because it is done via JS?. Maybe you have a js problem?

I'm up to testing version 21G - I still cannot save the edits from the front - even as super admin.

In the settings should we use or set these in a particular way to get a save?  see Image attached.

John2400, I can confirm that too. You can edit a product in frontend but the result is not saved. So I would say it does not work as expected. There seems to be a problem with the 'Save' button.

franzpeter,

Thanks- I wonder if you could have a go at editing a joomla post or  a news article from the front end. I can do that.

Just wondering if I can edit a Joomla article then is it me? or the code. Or a setting in VM?

Thanks franzpeter just made me think of that option. let me know.

John2400,
in the new version, which may have the test version # 2.0.21h or so, it will work!

Hello,

Is there already a solution on this? I have seen the same with version 2.0.22.

I think this is a Joomla SEF issue because when i thurn this off in global config i can edit and save the virtuemart product, when i turn back on i get a redirect / refresh to /index.php#

Regards,

SdK.
