How to sell joomla articles (content)

Hello people!

What I have is this:

  • a joomla website set up, and I'm looking for a way to sell my content

  • around 100 joomla articles with content inside them (mostly HTML and javascript but content from some joomla extensions, too). this number of articles is increasing over time. These are NOT downloadable files, but online-viewable articles inside joomla.

What i want to do is this:

  • users to be able to buy these articles separately
  • users to be able to buy these articles in packs (for example a pack will contain 10 articles) and (maybe) will be offered at a discount
  • use of paypal and perhaps use of a shopping cart

Extra features would be:

  • the ability for a 1st user to buy an article (or a pack) for a 2nd user. maybe give it as a gift.
  • if the 1st user buys 10 pieces of the same package, give him the ability to resell the articles inside the package individually to a 2nd user

I'm using the latest version of virtuemart, although didn't find a way to sell joomla articles and/or content...

Do you guys have any ideas on how can i sell my joomla articles?
Note again that they are NOT downloadable files, but joomla articles (because some of them are HTML and javascript products). Pretty much a pay-to-view system for joomla articles.

Thank you in advance for your answers!

I have used Community Builder with CBSubs plugin to do just that, as you need to utilise ACL. http://www.joomlapolis.com/

I guess there are other components on the JED that could be used, but I would not use a shopping cart component for this.

You created an access list for every article you had in your website? But i have around 100+ articles at the moment and it's increasing!

why not?

It would be a kind of mix of a download plugin with a joomla plugin. 2 days or so

Can someone develop this plugin? Is it possible?

We are going to pay for your work of course.

Hello,

I do not have a 100% solution but maybe it helps a little bit.

If you realise it with virtuemart I have a plugin which allows you to embed VirtueMart products in joomla articles. This way you could advertise the opportunity that it is possible to buy the article in your shop.

I don`t know if my english is good enough to explain it.

Demo of a sample article with product advertisement => http://www.jdemo.mowebso.com/mws_demo_virtuemart_theme/index.php/virtuemart-2-products-anywhere

Take a look => http://extensions.virtuemart.net/extensions-virtuemart-2/products/products-anywhere-detail
Send me a pm ;-)

And if I understood it right you will also need a plugin which hides the content of an article or a part of it first and starts showing it until a have bought the article to have the right to see it.

Correct?

Exactly that would be the part of the joomla content plugin.

The customplugin is to sell the product, and if someone bought it the joomla system plugin checks if the guy is allowed to watch it, nice idea. Development costs pure around 1000 euro at least.

Exactly. But do you know someone who is actually willing to develop this plugin for us, so that i can suggest it to my boss?
