Hello,

Use -detail or renamed it with something else that you like ... if you don't use it you may experience issues (like you already have)...

Regards
Production: Joomla 2.5.8 | VM 2.0.14 | PHP 5.3.13
Testing     : Joomla 2.5.8 | VM 2.0.16 | PHP 5.3.8

it's a shame I do not understand what is required to use "detail" or another name, for what might be useful  ???? as well as avoid problems

The recommended SEF settings, which will work for most shops are:

In Joomla configuration
Search Engine Friendly URLs: Yes
Use URL rewriting: Yes
Adds Suffix to URL: No
Unicode Aliases: No (setting this to Yes is useful in some non-latin languages)
Include Site Name in Page Titles: No

In VM2 configuration
SEO Disabled:  Off (= unchecked)
Seo Suffix: -detail (or -shop or .htm or whatever you want).  DO NOT leave this field empty. Otherwise switching between categories and products will frequently fail.
Translate strings: On (= checked)
Use Product and Category IDs: Off (unchecked)

BTW - if you change SEF settings, you will normally have to clear your Joomla and browser cache to pick up the changed settings.

If you see "/component/virtuemart" in the url, then you probably have not set a Joomla menu item for each of your VM2 categories. For your homepage you can use "Virtuemart Categories Layout". For the individual categories you need to set each category menu item to "Category Layout".

I just use   -p    as the suffix.

Its short, and will not confuse customers

I see, thanks for the help. I'm using the suffix and the links work fine now, thanks. ;)
