Categoies and subcategories in mainmenu

In VM I've created a category with 2 sublevel categories
-Cat 1
-- Cat 1.1
--- Cat 1.1.1
--- Cat 1.1.2
-- Cat 1.2
--- Cat 1.2.1
-Cat 2

Now I entered a link for each category into my Joomla Mainmenu (same structure as above with linktype "Category Layout" for each item)

Is there a way to autimatically show the first level categories as menu items and then list subcategories as submenues, so if I add one category or subcategory in Virtuemart automaticaly shows it in menu?
