Let the customer choose a price in a specific range

Hello,

I am using virtuemart 2.012 and at our webshop we are selling cupcakes. We would like the to be available for everyone which means using a variable price range.

We would like a fiel in which the customer can type the price he would like to pay for the product, the it needs to check automatically if that price is within the specific range.

For example, a product cost between $1 and $3 if a customer set the price at $2 it needs to be added to the cart but if the customer set the price at 0,50 or 3,50 it needs to show a message like "your price is not within the range, please change the price"

Is this possible? And does anyone have a solution?
