Virtual Product Custom Field

I have the shipping product shipping module which works very well except in the email and product details I want the layout to display the Product title, not the product filename. For example: it displays bookname.pdf, I want it to display Title of Book. Is there a way to do this?

I have VM2 and istaax product download plugin.

I've attached a screen shot of that part of the details page I'm talking about.
