Hello,

All product information stored under joomla mysql Database. Use phpMyAdmin to access the database.
Product images saved under your_joomla_site\images\stories\virtuemart\product

What exactly you wanna do?
Production: Joomla 2.5.8 | VM 2.0.14 | PHP 5.3.13
Testing     : Joomla 2.5.8 | VM 2.0.16 | PHP 5.3.8
Testing     : Joomla 2.5.8 |    VM 2.1   | PHP 5.3.8

Hi, in fact, I was considering to import "the already input products record from my old VM to a new one", I'm just lazy and don't want to input the record again.
However, now, I see there seems to be some progress of VM 2.0.10 !! It's now able to permit me select different children product !! That's perfect.
I don't mind to type the records again...

Thanks ^_^
Pei

Hello,

There are not only products but other tables too. You could use phpmyadmin to export the ___virtuemart_xxx tables you need and import them to your new installation. After that copy the your_joomla_site\images\stories\virtuemart\  images to your new joomla installation.

I have managed very small shops in the past by adding products manually.  Now I have a shop that has 1,000's of products.
So I have a question but not sure if it is silly or l!  I am trying to import csv into the DB, and I see the following:

  • jml_virtuemart_products
  • jos_virtuemart_products
  • w16mo_virtuemart_products
It looks like they all contain the same data.  So where do I import my new data into?  Just one, all 3?  Thanks!

Using VM 2.0.6 and Joomla 2.5.4

Hello,

The tables are the same but the prefixes xxx_ says that you have 3 different installation tables, xxx_ is the prefix from joomla configuration. There are many other tables you should import also.
I suggest you to try csv improved for that, has a free version that to can export and import products (csvimproved.com)
