Selectable images

I have used one of the custom fields to give shoppers an option of adding alternative options to their core product. This works as well as I had expected, but the shopper has to make their selection using default 'radio buttons'. This is not very user friendly. Is there a way of making the image selectable?

I'm using Joomla! 2.5.7
Virtumart 2.0.10
PHP 5.2.17

You can view these problems on my website: www.crackersforchristmas.com the attachment illustrates what I mean ... by selecting the red framed radio button the red framed product is added to the cart, similarly the green framed radio button selects the green framed product.
